The African Development Bank and the government sign deals to improve people’s access to electricity
The African Development Bank and the Republic of the Congo have signed two grant agreements worth $1.5 million to improve the country's energy sector and electricity access. The first grant of $585,000 will fund studies for the development of hydroelectric dams at Mbanza Ndounga and Linzolo to boost electricity production and energy self-sufficiency. The second grant of $995,000 will support a feasibility study and design of transmission lines between Pointe-Noire and Brazzaville, and between Loudima and Djambala. These agreements, signed on February 26, 2025, highlight the ongoing collaboration between the Bank and the Congo government to achieve universal electricity access.
