Temu and Shein increase advertising in the UK and France

It was reported by Reuters that fast-fashion e-commerce platforms Temu and Shein boosted their spending on digital advertising in Europe in April, showing a shift away from the US, where they face a rise in tariffs imposed by the President Trump administration.
According to the data from the market intelligence firm Sensor Tower shared with Reuters, Shein’s ad spending rose 35% in France and the UK, while PDD Group's Temu increased spending by 40% and 20% month-over-month, respectively.
The boost in ads by the two e-commerce companies in Europe comes after a ban on de minimis in the US, an exemption that previously allowed packages valued under $800 to enter the country duty-free.
